AMU Class 9 Admission 2026-27: Eligibility, Exam Pattern, and Schools

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of India’s most prestigious educational institutions, offering high-quality school education through its affiliated schools. The AMU Class IX Admission 2026-27 is now open, and this guide provides everything you need to know about the eligibility, application process, test pattern, syllabus, and schools.


Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Class IX at AMU, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Qualification: Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school or board (CBSE, ICSE, State Board, or any approved Public Examination Board).
  • Verification: Registration or affiliation number of the qualifying school should be clearly stated on the marksheet.
  • Age Limit: Applicants should be between 13 to 15 years old as on March 31, 2026.
    • Date of birth must fall between April 1, 2011, and March 31, 2013 (both dates inclusive).

Schools Available for Admission

For Boys (English Medium)

  • STS School – Intake: 90
  • RMPS AMU City School – Intake: 90
  • AMU ABK High School – Intake: 90

For Girls (English Medium)

  • AMU Girls School – Intake: 90
  • AMU ABK High School – Intake: 90

Selection Process

Admission is based on performance in:

  1. Written Test – 85 marks
  2. Interview – 15 marks

Important Note:

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on their performance in the written test.
  • A minimum of 40% in the interview is required to be eligible for final selection.
  • A minimum of 40% marks in Section-I of the written test is essential to qualify for the interview.

AMU Class 9 Entrance Exam Pattern

The written test is of 2 hours and divided into two sections:

Section-I (25 marks)

  • 25 Objective type questions (1 mark each)
  • Subjects:
    • English
    • Urdu
    • Hindi

Section-II (60 marks)

  • 60 Objective type questions (1 mark each)
  • Subjects:
    • Mathematics – 25 marks
    • Science – 25 marks
    • Social Science – 10 marks

Syllabus for Written Test

The syllabus is based on Class VIII curriculum as per CBSE/N.C.E.R.T., as followed in AMU University Schools.
